Provide water pumps for children and families in rural communities.
Program Goal: To provide water pumps for children and families in rural communities. By placing water pumps within these communities, ChildFund will be providing a nearby source of clean water for approximately 15 families.
Expected Results: Currently, children and families have to walk as much as 40 minutes to have access to clean water. Often, this task is the responsibility of the children of the family. A nearby source of clean water will give children more time to study, play and help with other family chores.
In the Philippines, forty percent of children currently live below the poverty line. That’s 14 million children living without basic necessities like food, clothing and access to clean water.
Community health huts help combat malaria, HIV/AIDS and illiteracy. Improve children's and family health in the Thies region of Senegal through ChildFund health programs.
